AIDS vaccines explained PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 06 February 2007

The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC) has launched a renewed online presentation on Introduction to AIDS Vaccines, an introduction to the world of AIDS vaccine research. This presentation is designed for the general public and provides viewers with a basic overview of research efforts to develop vaccines for AIDS. The presentation deals with the following subject:

What is a vaccine? How might an AIDS vaccine work? How are experimental AIDS vaccines developed? What are key issues for communities and service providers? How do new preventive technologies - like vaccines or microbicides - fit in a comprehensive response to HIV and AIDS

The presentation is easy to navigate and uses animated graphics to help explain complex scientific concepts.

Note the presentation is only in English and uses Macromedia Flashplayer 7, which may be difficult to view through dial up connections.
