We are delighted to welcome you to the
new GNP+ website. GNP+ is changing, and we invite you to discover
how. We have
reordered the site to reflect the organisational changes
and so it will be easier for you to navigate. In addition, we have
extended the possibilities for you to participate in GNP+. You can
register on the website and chat and exchange your details with other
participants. You can also be part of the professional database of
Positive Professionals and allow trusted partners of GNP+ to search
your CV for expertise.
As a participant you will have
increased influence on GNP+ policy, because GNP+ will regularly
consult its registered participants on political, social and
technical issues. Your experience and expertise as a person living
with HIV will feed directly into GNP+ advocacy for a PLHIV centred
global HIV response.
GNP+ advocates
to improve the quality of life of all people living with HIV. The
central theme for the work of GNP+ for 2007 and beyond is Reclaiming Our Lives!.
The GNP+ programs are organised under three platforms for action:
- Sexual and reproductive health and rights of people living with HIV
- Human rights of people living with HIV
- Empowerment of people living with HIV
The platforms for action are a reflection of the Global Advocacy
Agenda, which was agreed upon at the 1999 International Conference of
People Living with HIV/AIDS in Warsaw, Poland. The Global Advocacy
Agenda stated three main objectives:
- To increase access to treatment, care and prevention programs for all people living with HIV.
- To decrease stigma and discrimination directed towards people living with HIV
- Increased and more meaningful involvement of people living with HIV at all levels and in every aspect of the HIV response
To read more about what we have done over the past few years, you can find our annual reports in the library.
We hope you will enjoy the new website.
