You can now influence the United Kingdom's strategy on HIV in the
developing world by taking part in their online worldwide
consultation.
Taking Action – the official UK AIDS strategy - ends in March 2008, but tackling
AIDS will continue to be a fundamental part of the work of DFID - the UK Department for International Development. Significant
progress has been made in the global response to AIDS since Taking Action was launched in July 2004, and the UK needs to
update its position and approach to reflect these changes.
DFID would like to hear your views about how the UK should take
action to change the course of the AIDS epidemics. They have set
out a series of questions on the main issues which DFID's updated
strategy could address. These can be found in their consultation
document: “Updating Taking Action”.
Please look at the consultation website to
find out how you can aid the discussion and add your voice to the UK
AIDS strategy! Every two weeks the subject will change.
Until July 6th, you can provide input on
Working
with the international system and on Working
with civil society and PLWHA
From July 9 to 20 the subjects are Children
Affected by AIDS and Tackling
stigma and discrimination.
From July 16 to 27 focus will be on
Prevention and on Strengthening
health systems.
