Why can only people living with HIV become a participant of GNP+

This is a question which is regularly asked of us. Sometimes people who are not infected but are affected by HIV through partners or family members who are living with HIV find this decision unjust, as people affected by HIV also face daily challenges in loving, supporting, and defending persons living with HIV.

GNP+ recognizes the enormous contribution of people affected by HIV to the international HIV response and more specifically to the lives of millions individuals living with HIV. The voice and opinion of the scores of grandmothers taking care of their HIV infected and orphaned grandchildren must be heard.

However, people who are directly or indirectly affected by HIV have many local, national and international platforms to air their concerns. But there is only one global platform representing all people living with HIV where people living with HIV themselves decide what is important and show how they look at issues.
