GNP+ becomes member of IATT

GNP+ has become a member of the Interagency Task Team (IATT) on the Prevention of HIV in pregnant women, mothers and their infants. The IATT consists of representatives from UNAIDS co-sponsors, donors, NGOs, civil society, academic institutions and other organisations that play a significant role in supporting mothers to stay healthy and preventing new pediatric HIV infections.

Recently there has been renewed international commitment and energy to moving forward the global agenda to prevent vertical transmission. GNP+ is keen to ensure that the views and experiences of people living with HIV are captured in the development of guidance and best practice on the prevention of vertical transmission

As an IATT member, GNP+ uses its engagement in global policy and advocacy to link efforts to prevent vertical transmission with broader HIV efforts, especially relating to the lives of people living with HIV. With its expertise of gathering the perspectives and experiences of people living with HIV, GNP+ aims to inform the content and activities of the IATT’s working groups. GNP+ will also use it experience of collaborating with national networks to build evidence on the progress and outcomes in the delivery of services to prevent vertical transmission.
