The Global Network of People living with HIV during its advocacy over the years noted there is limited knowledge about the sexual and reproductive health of people living with HIV. In many places the knowledge that does exist does not reach the policy makers and sexual and repoductive health workers.

This is why GNP+ has developed multiple policy guidance programmes focussed on informing and supporting  policy makers

Policy briefings - Key Populations living with HIV

In order to examine issues that affect specific key-populations living with HIV, GNP+ and partners, with support from the World Health Organization, have elaborated a series of Policy Briefings. These Policy Briefings aim to provide guidance and support to those advocating for and/or develop programmes to address the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and human rights of different key populations living with HIV at a national and international level.

Rapid Assessment Tool for SRH and HIV Linkages

The importance of linking Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV and AIDS is widely recognised. The majority of HIV infections are sexually transmitted or are associated with pregnancy, childbirth and breast-feeding. The risk of HIV transmission and acquisition can be further increased due to the presence of certain sexually transmitted infections (STI's).

Advancing the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Human Rights of People Living with HIV

People living with HIV and their advocates in August 2009 launched a groundbreaking guidance package, “Advancing the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Human Rights of People Living with HIV”. Now, policy makers, programme managers, health professionals, donors and advocates have an important tool to better support the sexual and reproductive health and rights of people living with HIV.
