Red Ribbon Award 2012: Celebrating Community Leadership and action on AIDS

Join us on Wednesday July 25, Session Room 2, 13:00-14:00 in honoring this year’s Red Ribbon Award Winners, the most outstanding community-based responses to AIDS in 2012! This biennial award is given to 10 organizations that have shown outstanding community leadership and action against AIDS. In addition to the RRA winners themselves, speakers include:

  • GNP+ International Coordinator and CEO, Kevin Moody
  • UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé
  • Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway 
  • Nobel Prize Winner Aung San Suu Kyi – by video address
  • US Congressman Jim McDermott, 
  • Minister of Health and Social Affairs of France Marisol Touraine, and other eminentspeakers.

Also: Don’t miss these key sessions at the Community DialogueSpace (CDS) in the Global Village at the International AIDS Conference 2012 (AIDS 2012) from 23 – 27 July 2012 in Washington, D.C.. 15 informative sessions to discuss relevant issues in the AIDS response are planned for the week. All sessions are open to the public!

The CDS is a civil society‐led platform at AIDS 2012 hosted by 2012 Red Ribbon Award winners. It aims to provide a pivotal policy platform for grassroots priorities to be heard and to influence the national and global AIDS responses.Come and have your say! Further information is coming soon.
